A Fish kebab whose taste will linger long after the meal is over... ❤️ . Continuing on my wonderful dinner at The Saffron Tree, so it was not the Pork Biryani (see my earlier post) which stole our hearts (or is it stomachs?). 🤣 . We were looking for some delectable starters and the very helpful staff suggested this dish. So how was it? . ❓What: Mahi Chandi Tikka 🐟 . 📍 Where: The Saffron Tree, 100, Raja Basanta Roy Rd (Next lane opposite to the Indian Post Office, Southern Avenue) @the_saffron_tree @thesaffrontree . 🐒 feedback: First, the quality of fish was excellent. The kebab itself was very unique-the mildly sweet part touches you first but before you know, the spicy bit hits you. So definitely this was the best we had here. Presentation was also nice. ❤️ . P.S: The menu card attributes each dish to a House of the Nawabs and this kebab was from the Nawabs of Rampur. 😎 . 🤑 Pocket pinch: INR 295/- for one plate. Worth everybit. . 📣 What's coming up next? When One ❤️ meets the other ❤️, magic happens! . For the Jamaishosthi treat, this time we went to the Saffron Tree restaurant. Why? Because I got to know that this place serves P O R K B I R I Y A N I! 😋😋😋😋 . You see the point now, the Biriyani love meets the Pork love and I was ready for a mind blowing affair! So how was it? . ❓What: TST Pork Biriyani 🐷 . 📍 Where: The Saffron Tree, 100, Raja Basanta Roy Rd (Next lane opposite to the Indian Post Office, Southern Avenue) @the_saffron_tree @thesaffrontree . 🐒 feedback: So their menu card explains what we can expect. What we get is fairly medium sized Pork loin pieces. Pork was perfect and almost came off as the fork went through it. Next there were small chunks of pork fat spread across the fine rice and this was a nice improvisation for me. How's the biryani? Well I will say standard affair with a big sized Aloo (potato) which seemed to done separately. Summing up, we don't get Pork Biryani in usual restaurants, so full marks for trying this out! With a slice of pork mixed with rice and aloo, this Jamai did have a great time!🤣❤️ . P.S: They clearly highlight the non usage of dalda and other artificial colors and flavors. 😎 . 🤑 Pocket pinch: At INR 195/- for one plate, I am all for having it next time. . 📣 What's coming up next? এক কাপ চায়ে আমি তোমাকে চাই... . 💡Probably the most peaceful time I had spent in recent years, was in this place, sitting on a handcrafted wooden stool, sipping tea and blissfully loosing myself into the silence of the mountains. . 😇This visit to Tinchuley reinforced my belief in making a trip where one can shut down the hustle and bustle of an otherwise ordinary life. . ☑️There are many "smalk hamlets" in and around the well-known towns of North Bengal and Sikkim. My experience says it's best to stay there and make short trips. . This will be the final image from our "Beat the Heat" trip this summer. Soon I will bring the detailed information of our trip on where to stay, eat and relax in our blog. 📝 . Till then... ⚠️ Have you met Messi? I have. ❤️ . Meet Messi. The German Shepherd who is your friend, guide and companion here in Tinchuley Rai Resort. 🐕 . I am generally averse to dogs but Messi broke that barrier. He played with our mini Monkeys, Aadit and Rishaan continuously. Such was the friendship that one morning, I opened the door of our room and found him sitting right there. That's when this photo was taken. Rishaan was too elated to find his friend coming to him to say "Good Morning"! 🌞 . Want to meet Messi then? 😀 . . 📣 What's coming up next?
